Special qualifications apply for the 2022/2023/2024 Darts Grand Slam. Players can qualify through various tournaments .
Essentially, the top 8 players in the PDC Order of Merit are seeded. There must be a total of 16 players . If this isn't the case because some players didn't make it, the reserve list will be examined to determine who will move up .
The winners of the European Tour events are considered first. Then come the winners of the Players Championship tournaments . If necessary, players are considered based on their rankings in the Order of Merit .

Last year, Luke Humphries spectacularly won the 2023 Darts Grand Slam against Rob Cross. Humphries was at his absolute best, and Cross didn't stand a chance.
This first triumph for Humphries caused quite a stir, as he beat Cross 16-8 . He thus completely overran Cross.
But there was also a huge surprise the year before. Michael Smith won the 2022 Darts Grand Slam in an equally impressive manner, and it was also his first title.
Not at a famous event at Ally Pally Darts , but in Wolverhampton, Smith faced Nathan Aspinall and literally "flattened" him. Smith won the long-awaited major title 16-5 and was rewarded with the Eric Bristol Trophy.
9 darters and other top performances at the Grand Slam
In all the years of Grand Slam darts, there have actually only been six perfect matches . The first player was James Wade, who achieved a 9-darter in 2008 against Gary Anderson.
It wasn't until six years later that Kim Huybrechts was able to deliver a perfect match against Michael van Gerwen. The very next year, Dave Chisnall hit a nine-darter against Peter Wright .
Then there was a break of three years until Dimitri van den Bergh managed to play the nine-darter against Stephen Bunting .
Josh Rock landed the fifth nine-darter in his debut against Michael van Gerwen. And the very next year, Ryan Searle landed a nine-darter.
